Great video. I've always tried to replace trailer shocks annually at time of DOT inspection/PM but airbags I've opted to replace every 5 years or sooner if they fail or show signs of dry rot. Any thoughts on this?

As a CRE driver who just happens to be learning how to model things in Blender (a free 3D graphics program), I have never learned so much about trailers on the job as I have in the last two weeks of wanting to build my own model, and I can't tell you how awesome this video is from my perspective. Toolbox idea ??? I think I sent it to the wrong video… Any way was trying to tell you about a theory that I had about the toolbox… I my neck of the woods I see lots of flatbed trailers with toolboxes with missing doors or doors that to be bungee strapped down or strapped down by a load straps and I wondering how come nobody has thought about designing the door system like the doors on a greyhound luggage compartment door ??? A door that has a steel rod running through the center of the door where it can swivel out and fold upward like a lambo door ??? I’ve never once seen a door from a tour or passenger bus missing or damage in transit and I’m sure the weight of the luggage can be just as heavy if not heavier than whatever a flatbedder can pack into his toolbox ??? I wonder why nobody has ever tried a design like this before ??? I give this idea to you utility (no charge!) so you can corner the market with it… I’m not a flat bed driver. Just a driver at truck stop on a 34 hour reset watching videos and a thought just crossed my mined…

In my neck of the woods you see a lot of flat bed trailers with their toolbox doors damage; or held on by a strap of some sort to keep door from flopping open during transit and I was wondering how come they don’t design the doors on the tool box to be like the doors on a greyhound bus ??? Cause I’ve never once seem a greyhound bus compartment door missing or strapped closed in order for the bus to operate??? I’m sure the luggage has got to be just heavy if not heavier than the things that a flat driver puts in his trailer tool box… I believe the first company who can come up with a similar design for a tool box that can fold out and up like a lambo door or greyhound’s cargo door will become a millionaire. Why has anyone noticed this and thought of this before ??? Their are buses in grave yards for over 30-40 years sent out pasted but their cargo doors are still intact…. I actually used to work for Utility of Lakeland here in central Florida. Have you guys ever considered a shaving blade for a saws all that’s made just for foamed trailers? I think they run about $500 but it leaves no mess and save time as well. 🤙

You put them in backwards. Small side goes out. You get a better seal and they don't wear out as quickly. It's a common mistake.

The guy lowering the landing gear had it in low gear. Also the landing gear only needs to be 2" from the ground. I'd rather dump my air bags to get under a low trailer than one that's too high. You can usually tell before getting under it.
